Join an elite group dedicated to continuous personal improvement as GCT is currently seeking an Image Processing Engineer to work on an exciting new project.  The candidate will be working here at our headquarters to develop proprietary software which will manipulate imagery in multiple ways.  The software will manipulate the imagery in order to assist the end user in retrieving the most value possible from the product.  Once the software is developed, the candidate will be involved in the necessary steps to ensure that a quality program is developed and that the product is ultimately successful.  The candidate may travel to multiple locations as needed throughout the Washington, DC Metro Area.  Due to the general nature of the work, the candidate may be asked to perform additional job duties in the future.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelors Degree in either Computer Science or Geography

·         10+ years of full lifecycle software engineering experience in the geospatial/imagery arena

·         Superior understanding of imagery formats commonly used throughout the profession (NITF, CIB, GeoTIFF, etc.)

·         Advanced understanding of C/C++ or Java and J2EE programming skills

·         Experience with multi-threaded design and or parallel processing

·         Experience with IBM cell blade architectures a plus

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office programs to include Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint

·         Excellent oral and written communication

·         Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
