Job Description: GCT is looking for an experienced ORACLE architect to work onsite with our customer to architect an extremely large and complex geospatial data warehouse in Oracle 10g with Oracle Spatial and ESRI's ArcSDE. This system will support a dynamic web services tier to serve geospatial product and services to a distributed user community utilizing Open GIS Consortium (OGC) web service interfaces (WMS, WFS, and WCS). This system will manage a wide variety of imagery, raster, vector, and metadata formats and will require the development of specification-based schemas, as well as services designed to normalize specification-specific schemas into more subjective forms to facilitate thematic content discovery, query, and access. The systems architecture will need to address distributed operations supporting Oracle replication, accessing several distributed data centers hosting petabytes of geospatially-referenced data.

The successful candidate will have an advanced degree from a fully accredited university in a discipline such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, BA or MBA in Information Systems and hold an active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope lifestyle polygraph. The candidate is required to have a minimum of ten years of full-time, progressive experience in relational database administration, management or design. The candidate must have earned an Oracle certification at some time in the last ten years.

The candidate should show demonstrable interest in publishing Oracle research as evidenced by participating in user groups and publishing articles, books, and columns. The candidate should express a desire to tackle research concepts such as designing a database architecture that can fully normalize raw oblique geospatial imagery data content in a 10g Spatial GeoRaster type and support just-in-time orthorectification, tonal/spectral balanced mosaicing, transformation and translation services.
