Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for researching, developing and analyzing information received through a variety of sources, with a primary focus on unclassified, publicly available sources of information (also known as Open Sources). The successful candidate will serve as a liaison member for the MSRP Team/OSINT. The candidate may also be responsible for tasking resources and performing additional research at off-site locations.
The qualified candidate must possess 12-15 years experience, including an awareness of the intelligence analysis cycle. The candidate must have strong research and analysis skills and excellent verbal and written communications skills; the candidate may have to present occasional briefings to public audiences. The ideal candidate will have a Library Sciences background or experience working in a library. The candidate will provide subject matter expertise in all aspects of Open Source Intelligence, as well as having familiarity with the Measurements and Signatures Intelligence (MASINT), Imagery Intelligence (IMINT), Human Intelligence (HUMINT), and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) disciplines. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a consolidated, multi-source team.
The candidate will provide support in leveraging of requirements for and conducting research of Open Sources. Additionally, the candidate will assist in the evaluation and recommendation of information sources and/or automated systems. The candidate must be familiar with the national-level intelligence organizations, Open Source intelligence producers, and users of OSINT. Working knowledge of the Community Open Source Program is a plus. Incumbent will be required to develop and maintain a network of contacts with other agency counterparts, initiating formal and informal information exchanges and site visits as required. Experience with databases and tools such as OSIS, IC-ROSE, Proquest, DIALOG, Lexis-Nexis, EBSCO Host, Jane’s, the Economist Intelligence Unit, Oxford Analytica, and FBIS is a plus; also beneficial is experience conducting Gray Literature research and familiarity with machine-translation tools.
