Brent Bursey founded Great-Circle Technologies in February 2000 with the vision of a holistic interdisciplinary approach to optimize geospatial information technology systems. As the organization has grown, Mr. Bursey has focused on attracting and retaining talented and creative individuals in the top five percent of their disciplines.

As a GIS consultant, Mr. Bursey previously supported a number of civilian agencies, state and local governments, as well as corporate customers focusing on environmental science and transportation issues. Mr. Bursey then transitioned into the Defense and Intelligence sectors supporting customers including all of the Services, Coast Guard, coalition partners, DISA, DARPA, US Army Corps of Engineers (TEC), the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA-formerly NIMA), and a number of intelligence agencies.

Over the span of his career, Mr. Bursey has worked as a GIS consultant, a senior software engineer, a senior systems engineer, a senior GIS systems architect, a technical lead, a technical manager, a program manager, a capture manager, and a geospatial intelligence subject matter expert. His IT experience runs the gamut from program conceptualization and requirements definition/validation, all the way through component/system design, software development, engineering management, and deployment to eventual systems maintenance. Mr. Bursey's expansive knowledge of technical, business, and domain-specific information provides him with the basis for successfully working with customers to conceptualize innovative, yet pragmatic solutions for dynamic and rapidly emerging requirements.
